What is Hydro Jetting?
If you have a clogged drain or sewer line, hydro jetting
can clear the clogged area to make it free of grime build-up and tree root debris.
Hydro jetting is known as one of the most effective ways to clean out pipe blockages. This is done by utilizing a continuous blast of high pressure water through a hose that is pushed down a drain line. Water is forced out up to 4,000 psi. While there are alternatives such as snaking out a clog, hydro jetting does a more thorough job. This is because hydro jetting cleans the entire diameter of the pipe. Alternative methods merely punch a hole in the blockage leaving debris. Hydro jetting thoroughly cleans the inside of a pipe, eliminating debris.
The effectiveness of hydro jetting is due to the pressure of the rotating water that forces its way into the pipe. On the end of the hydro jet is a nozzle that directs water towards the walls of the pipe. As the hose pushes forward, the back flush of the water draws debris out of the pipe. This technique is capable of removing the toughest roots and some of the most stubborn blockages to restore proper water flow. For larger drains, larger nozzles are utilized for optimal results.
How do you know if you need it?
Pipe problems can reveal themselves in a number of unpleasant ways in the form of dirty water welling up in your sink, to an unexpected toilet overflow. Clogged and backed-up drains are the result of years of build-up in your pipes. This build-up can be attributed to things such as grease, sediment, minerals, hair, and food. All of this coats the walls of your pipes impeding water flow.
If your home is surrounded by trees, roots may be causing problems to your pipes unbeknownst to you. Hydro jetting can be the best solution to fully eliminate the blockage caused by roots. Tree roots are attracted to moisture and will directly gravitate toward the pipe. When they reach a moisture source, the tree sends out fine hair-like strands that act like a net and can catch such things like grease, food, and hair. These strains are miniature roots that cause blockage. Over time, they can grow to be as big as the pipeline. Hydro jetting can eliminate the roots and debris.
